OAS – The University Of The West Indies 2018 Bachelor’s Degree Scholarship Opportunities

The Organisation of American States (OAS), through the Department of Human Development Education and Employment (DHDEE) and the University of the West Indies (UWI), through the OAS Partnerships Programme for Education and Training (PAEC), are offering scholarships to qualified candidates of the Americas to complete the last two years of a bachelor’s degree at the University of the West Indies (except for those of the Faculties of Law and Medical Sciences) beginning August 2018.

The modality of the programmes is onsite in Barbados, Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago and the language of instruction is English.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE

OAS scholarships are not offered for studies in one’s country of citizenship or permanent legal residence. Citizens and/or permanent legal residents of Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago will not be considered for these OAS scholarships at the University campus located in their country of citizenship or legal residence.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, an applicant must:

  1. be a citizen and/or permanent legal resident of Saint Lucia;
  2. submit a complete OAS scholarship application online with all the required supporting documents;
  3. provide an unconditional admission letter to the University of the West Indies;
  4. not be an OAS staff or individual who maintains employment contracts with the OAS or immediate relatives of a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS; and
  5. have not be a current OAS scholarship holder.

 

BENEFITS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

  • The UWI will charge a maximum of USD $6,000* to cover the tuition fees per year.
  • The GS/OAS shall provide a one-time tuition allowance of a maximum of USD 4,000 to the top ranked OAS-UWI Scholarship Recipients.

*Should the cost of the program of study be less than the total scholarship amount, the UWI and OAS will cover the lesser amount as billed by UWI.
