Overview
The Welder/Fabricator job is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, fabrication of metal components, and precise welding of these components to meet product specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail and compliance to safety standards in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing and construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding on various metals (e.g., steel, mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel).
• Operate fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, shears, plasma cutters and oxyacetylene equipment.
• Operate welding machines such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and laser machines
• Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe work area.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience as a welder/fabricator or similar role.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions.
• Certification in welding (preferred but not always required).
Work Environment:
• Workshop and on-site fabrication setting.
• May involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working at higher elevations.
