Caribbean Metals Limited, a reputable retail manufacturer for roofing and steel construction products, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for a progressive, tech-savvy individual with a foundational skillset in industrial maintenance and a passion for learning. The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced technicians, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of our production systems while developing advanced competencies in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical,
pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across the production floor. - Support troubleshooting efforts for equipment such as roll formers, shears, welders, compressors, and forklifts.
- Maintain organized records of maintenance activities and service logs using digital tools and
internal systems. - Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency response protocols under
supervision. - Contribute to the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
- Monitor inventory of tools and spare parts, and assist with procurement coordination.
- Collaborate with the senior technician and production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and propose innovative ideas to enhance
performance and efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Mid to Entry-Level Technician: 2 to 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance or technical
support, preferably in a manufacturing or construction-related environment. - Progressive Thinker: Demonstrates curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
- Tech-Savvy & Organized: Comfortable using maintenance software, digital logs, and Microsoft
Office tools; maintains structured workflows and documentation. - Innovative & Collaborative: Brings fresh ideas to the table and works well with others to solve
problems and improve outcomes. - Quick Learner: Adapts rapidly to new systems, equipment, and procedures with minimal
supervision. - Safety Conscious: Understands the importance of compliance and contributes to a safe working environment.
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. - Preferred Education: Exposure to mechatronics, hydraulics, or industrial automation; additional training in safety compliance or equipment diagnostics is an asset.
