Overview
Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about science and quality? St. Lucia Distillers Limited is seeking a motivated and reliable Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations, conduct testing and analysis, and help maintain high standards of product quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct laboratory analyses of water, raw and in-process materials, spirits, waste oils, and other process materials.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments as required.
• Perform chemical, physical, and sensory analyses of distillates and accurately record results.
• Test cleaning solutions, rinse water, and washed bottles for compliance with established standards.
• Representative sampling.
• Monitor cleaning chemical concentrations in clean-in-place and bottle washing operations.
• Verify tank dip readings for spirit transfers between designated areas.
• Present laboratory results at production meetings and support product and process development.
Qualifications & Requirements
• CSEC passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, and English Language.
• Chemistry at CAPE level or an equivalent qualification.
• Ability to learn quickly and accurately perform laboratory analytical procedures and record results.
• Strong attention to details and accuracy; strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, and collaboratively with production and quality assurance teams.
• Willingness and ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when required.
