Vacancy: Kitchen and Deli Retail Supervisor

CPJ St. Lucia Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Kitchen and Deli Retail Supervisor to manage the daily operations of the kitchen and deli within our retail store.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen and deli staff, coordinating meal preparation and deli operations, maintaining food quality and presentation standards, controlling wastage and stock usage, ensuring excellent customer service, and enforcing strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Kitchen and Deli Retail Supervisor will be required to:

  1. Supervise daily kitchen and deli operations.
  2. Coordinate meal preparation, product display, packaging, labeling, and service.
  3. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health card requirements.
  4. Monitor stock levels, wastage, portion control, product quality, and gross margin performance.
  5. Ensure deli products and prepared meals are fresh, properly priced, displayed, and available for sale.
  6. Supervise, coach, schedule, and monitor the performance of kitchen and deli staff.
  7. Maintain accurate records for production, temperature checks, cleaning, wastage, and disposals.
  8. Support customer service, sales performance, menu planning, and promotional activities.
  9. Report operational, staffing, equipment, maintenance, and compliance issues to the Retail Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  1. Tertiary level education in Culinary Arts, Food and Beverage Management, Hospitality Management, Retail Management, Business Administration, Supervisory Management, or a related field.
  2. Certification in Food Safety, HACCP, Food Preparation, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Retail Operations, or Supervisory Management would be an asset.
  3. A valid food handler’s permit or health card, where applicable.
  4. At least 3 years’ experience in kitchen, deli, food service, hospitality, supermarket, or retail food operations.
  5. At least 1–2 years’ supervisory or team lead experience would be preferred.
  6. Strong knowledge of food safety, stock rotation, portion control, customer service, wastage control, and retail food operations.
  7. Good leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, and people management skills.
