Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Customs Broker to manage the clearance of imported and exported goods in compliance with all customs laws and regulations. The successful candidate will ensure timely processing of shipments, accurate documentation and effective coordination with customs authorities, shipping agents and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit customs declarations for imports and exports

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable customs regulations, tariffs, and trade laws

  • Classify goods using the appropriate tariff codes

  • Calculate duties, taxes, and other applicable charges

  • Liaise with customs officials, port authorities, and shipping lines

  • Coordinate the clearance and release of cargo in a timely manner

  • Advise clients on documentation requirements and regulatory changes

  • Resolve customs queries, inspections, and discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and filings

  • Monitor shipments and provide status updates to clients

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licence as a Customs Broker (where required)

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics

  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and tariff classification

  • Familiarity with customs systems and documentation

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with occasional visits to ports, warehouses, or airports

  • May require extended hours depending on shipment schedules
