Job Summary

The Country Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, strategic growth, and financial performance of the institution within the assigned country. The role involves leading business development initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and driving operational excellence while aligning with the organization’s regional and global objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the institution’s operations within the country.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to drive growth and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all local financial regulations, policies, and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to expand the institution’s presence.
  • Provide leadership and direction to management and staff to achieve organizational goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and economic developments.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Manage risk, corporate governance, and internal controls effectively.
  • Represent the institution at business, government, and industry engagements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree or professional certifications would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years management experience within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial operations, compliance, and business development.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
