JOB TITLE: Compliance Officer
REPORTS TO: Compliance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Compliance
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A
GRADE: 3
JOB SUMMARY: Audit the company’s documented system of procedures, and policies for all aspects of its operations: assess, review, inspect and document systems of internal controls to verify the effectiveness of the systems of internal control using a risk-based approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Evaluate and examine procedures and policies and systems of internal controls to protect the company’s assets.
- Design and conduct compliance inspections of specified areas of all departments throughout the company.
- Generate reports on Compliance findings and making recommendations for improvements in existing systems or the creation of news ones.
- Review of foreign Claims process.
- Analyze local supplier invoices and payments processes.
- Perform Inventory spot checks and ensure inventory accuracy during an Inventory Count.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in accounting/Business Administration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience.
COMPETENCE:
- Strong analytical, written /verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to identify problems, collect data and draw reasonable conclusions.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Proficient in spreadsheets (Excel)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Supermarket temperatures
- Warehouse conditions (dust, cold temperatures)
