POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTS OFFICER
DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTS & FINANCE
REPORTS TO (TITLE) ACCOUNTS SUPERVISOR
Primary objective of the job:
The role is responsible for processing banking, broker and general ledger entries, payment processing and preparing assigned schedules to support financial and regulatory reporting. It supports the accurate recording and safeguarding of the Bank’s assets while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position is a key part of
the Bank’s accounting and finance functions, contributing to the integrity of financial operations and regulatory adherence.
Principal Responsibilities:
▪ Reconciles correspondent bank accounts as assigned for PROVEN Bank (Saint Lucia) Limited and its Subsidiaries.
▪ Reconciles correspondent bank accounts, investigates and resolves all discrepancies and omissions, and communicates any unusual transactions.
▪ Reviews daily posted transactions against the General Ledger Daily Balance Verification report and ensures transactions are compliant with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
▪ Administers the accounting and record-keeping for Investments including the following:
▪ Prepare reconciliation of investment accounts, investment register and related accounting entries
▪ Monitoring and reviewing the Investment Management System to ensure accuracy of information and prepare month-end entries
▪ Prepare bond investments schedules
▪ Performs annual physical verification of fixed assets. Track and monitor the bank’s
fixed assets
▪ Prepare monthly schedules and ensure verification to ledger balances
▪ Administer the accounting and record-keeping for loans, including but not limited to the following:
▪ Review files for completeness of information
▪ Monitor and review the Loan accounts to ensure timely settlements, accuracy of allocations, and prepare month-end entries as needed
▪ Prepare loan schedules
▪ Complete periodic intercompany reconciliations and ensure timely settlement with Related Parties
▪ Perform accounts payable function
▪ Provide support during the internal and external audit engagements
▪ Prepare assigned statutory and other reports ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory procedures
▪ Petty Cash management

Minimum Education and Experience:
▪ Associate degree in accounting or related field from an accredited University or College with a minimum of two (2) years related work experience.
▪ At least three (3) A ‘Level or CAPE Unit 2 passes in the following subject areas: Accounting, Economics, Mathematics with a minimum of two (2) years related work
experience OR
▪ Completion of Level 1 ACCA or C.A.T certification with a minimum of two (2) years related work experience
▪ Experience/ exposure in an audit environment would be an asset.
