Overview
Fond Doux Eco Resort is seeking a skilled, dependable, and hands-on Repairs & Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and smooth operation of our eco-resort facilities and guest accommodations. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the resort’s buildings, cottages, plumbing, electrical systems, landscaping equipment, and general infrastructure to ensure an exceptional guest experience at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance across the resort property.
- Carry out general repairs to guest cottages, restaurant areas, offices, pools, and public spaces.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, and minor mechanical issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and departments.
- Ensure all air conditioning, lighting, water systems, and appliances are functioning efficiently.
- Maintain resort tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment in good working condition.
- Assist with landscaping and outdoor maintenance when required.
- Monitor and report maintenance inventory, supplies, and equipment needs.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support renovation and improvement projects throughout the resort.
- Assist in maintaining the resort’s eco-friendly and sustainability standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance storage areas and workshops.
- Perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Carry out any other related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate or training in Electrical, Plumbing, Construction, HVAC, or General Maintenance is an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in property, hotel, or resort maintenance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general building maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance problems efficiently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting equipment and performing manual tasks.
- Valid driver’s license would be an asset.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
