Overview
Job Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of store operations to achieve strong commercial results, operational efficiency, and an exceptional customer experience, while fostering a psychologically safe, engaged, and high-performing team. The role balances hands-on operational leadership with people leadership, ensuring maximum sales and margins, disciplined cost control, and consistent execution of brand, service, safety, and compliance standards. Success is achieved through the effective utilization, development, and engagement of people and resources.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead daily store operations to deliver strong sales, efficient processes, and excellent customer service.
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (sales, margins, labour, shrink, and customer satisfaction).
- Make sound operational decisions on scheduling, inventory, and workflow to balance service, efficiency, and profitability.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team with clear expectations.
- Ensure proper cash controls and compliance with company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, food safety, and equipment functionality.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls and merchandising standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and HSSE standards.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while strengthening service standards.
- Safeguard company assets and minimize operational risks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bsc, BA in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (e.g., retail, hospitality, distribution, manufacturing, banking, or service operations).
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing performance, and driving results.
- Experience managing budgets, costs, or operational targets.
- Experience improving processes, service delivery, or team engagement.
- Supermarket experience is an asset
