POSITION TITLE: TEMPORARY COMPLIANCE ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT: RISK & COMPLIANCE
REPORTS TO (TITLE): COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR, COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Primary objective of the job:
Provide support to the Compliance team in executing the Bank’s compliance risk management policies, ensuring regulatory requirements are met and testing of compliance control systems.

Principal Responsibilities:
▪ Play a pivotal role in supporting the Compliance Team in clearing the backlog of annual client risk reviews (system data migration project), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
▪ Assist the Compliance Team with ongoing monitoring activities, including annual client risk reviews, trigger event reviews, and batch screening analysis, ensuring all assessments are comprehensive, timely and consistent with the Bank’s risk management policies and regulatory requirements.
▪ Support the prompt, timely and accurate preparation of responses to information requests, court orders, and other inquiries from relevant authorities, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to regulatory obligations.
▪ Assist Compliance with the CRS look-back process for passive trusts and status active NFE certifications, ensuring remediation of controlling persons gaps
▪ Ensure timely, well-documented responses to compliance-related requests from the Business Development and Client Relations departments, ensuring efficient review and resolution of client matters in accordance with internal procedures.
▪ Assist with ad-hoc and special compliance projects, ensuring high accuracy and completeness in line with internal policies and procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience:
▪ Associate degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited college; banking experience would be an asset.
▪ Previous experience in a compliance, risk, banking, or financial services environment would be considered an advantage.
