Food Center (St. Lucia) Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Down Trade Sales Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong sales and leadership skills, who thrives in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
Position Overview:
The Down Trade Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth in the down trade market by developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing relationships with key customers, and leading a high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will ensure the achievement of sales targets, customer satisfaction, and overall business growth within the assigned market segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand distribution and market share within the down trade channel
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and develop competitive strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate sales performance by regularly analyzing data and trends, preparing comprehensive reports for senior management, and developing strategic action plans to improve underperforming areas.
- In collaboration with the Promotion and Merchandising Supervisor, ensure proper merchandising, product visibility, and promotional execution at the retail level.
- Work closely with the logistics and distribution teams to ensure efficient product availability and delivery.
- Manage pricing, discount structures, and credit terms in alignment with company policies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective trade marketing initiatives
- In collaboration with the Accounts Receivables team ensure timely collection of receivables from assigned accounts
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in FMCG sales, with at least 3 years in management role
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share
- Strong understanding of the St. Lucian retail landscape, particularly in the down trade channel
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Proficient in data analysis and sales forecasting
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite, CRM systems)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout St. Lucia
- Experience with distribution management systems is an advantage
