REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS – MARKET REPRESENTATIVE 

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) seeks to secure tenders for a Market Representative for the German Speaking DACH Market (Germany, Austria and German speaking Switzerland) based in Germany. The SLTA invites individuals or companies to submit proposals to provide these services. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the representative must proactively develop, implement, and manage the SLTA’s sales and marketing strategy for the DACH market through the initiation and execution of effective campaigns and promotions. The execution of these services will be detailed in the annual marketing plans presented by the Market Representative and agreed by the SLTA. The specific duties for this position are outlined below. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Developing and executing annual marketing plans in line with the objectives established by the SLTA. 2. Executing agreed upon trade and consumer marketing programs. 
  2. Developing and executing a Public Relations plan and activities. 
  3. Developing and executing a Social Media plan and activities (this might be in partnership with a specialist company).
  4. Liaising with and executing tour operator co-op marketing initiatives. 
  5. Undertaking trade and consumer fulfillment. 
  6. Providing market intelligence and identifying new market opportunities. 
  7. Providing monthly and annual operations reports. 
  8. Providing monthly and annual financial reports and budgets. 
  9. Provision of a dedicated team for the proper delivery of the key responsibilities. 
  10. Generally assisting and supporting the marketing and promotion of Saint Lucia’s products and services in Germany  (priority), Austria and German speaking Switzerland.  

Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Marketing/Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s Degree Preferred and/or requisite years of experience in a related field. 
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in the travel, hotel, or tourism industry. 
  • Exceptional relationship management skills, self-motivated, high energy, creative, flexible. 
  • Organised and able to prioritise a wide variety of demands. 
  • Excellent public speaking and sales presentation skills.  
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Proficient with Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Instagram etc.) and database software tools.
  •  Knowledge of Saint Lucia’s tourism products and abreast with market trends. 
  • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Absence of conflicting clientele – current and future. 
  • Holder of a valid Driver’s license for this region. 
  • Must be a resident of Germany and possess the requisite status to work in the regions outlined. 

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
